With over 300 million users, Twitter has evolved from a simple micro-blogging site to what is now known as the ‘SMS of the internet’. Based in San Fransisco, this social networking site is used by politicians, celebrities, and pretty much everyone who’s famous on the internet. The service allows users to share their thoughts in a succinct but fun way. So, if like millions of tweeters, you too have become a Twitter addict, then it’s about time you twitterized your Chrome with these essential tweeter-friendly extensions.
Tweet Button: Twitter is not just about writing out haikus or relaying what you ate for lunch, it’s also about sharing what you love. Twitter users often tweet links to interesting articles and help spread interesting content to the world. This sweet little extension makes the process of sharing links as easy as pie.

Let’s say you come across an interesting article, and you want to share it with your followers. With the help of the Tweet Button extension, you’ll be able to do that with a single click instead of copying and pasting links around. Once installed, a little bird icon shows up in your Chrome toolbar allowing you to instantly share interesting links with your followers.
Twitter Notifier: If you use Twitter a lot, which we’re sure you do, then, you must have noticed how hard it is to keep up with your stream. Sometimes we miss some important replies or DMs, especially when we’re browsing other interesting sites like Reddit, G+ or Facebook. Thankfully though, there’s a nifty little extension that doesn’t let you miss out on anything that happens on Twitter.

Twitter Notifier, once installed, notifies you of tweets, DMs, and replies using Chrome’s notification system. You can also retweet, favorite, and reply to tweets right from the notification box. In short, the extension is like Gmail Mail Checker for Twitter.
Embedly: One great thing about the new web version of Twitter is that it allows you to view images and YouTube videos without leaving the site. As good as that feature may be, its preview capabilities are limited only to a certain number of services. Embedly fulfills this shortcoming by allowing you to view embedded previews of upto 200 different sites.

So, let’s say someone you follow shares a link to a Soundcloud MP3, of course, normally you’d have to visit the link just to hear the song. With Embedly installed, you can listen to the song right from the Twitter homepage. Cool huh?
Open Tweet Filter: If you feel that your Twitter stream is getting a bit too noisy, then it’s time to clean it up a bit. Hey, but don’t start unfollowing people right away, especially if you follow some awesome tweeps like us. As for the noise problem, there is a simple Chrome extension called Open Tweet Filter, which, when installed, will let you filter out tweets on the web version of Twitter.
So, let’s say, in a hypothetical catastrophic event, the teenage sensation Justin Bieber wins a Grammy award; we know that your Twitter stream will be inundated with senseless tweets. To remedy that problem, simply configure the extension to filter out Tweets containing the term ‘justin bieber’, et voila, your Twitter stream looks a lot more intelligent now.
Remove Twitter Promotions: Hate those ‘promoted’ trends, accounts, and tweets on Twitter? You’re not the only one. Fortunately though, there’s a nifty little extension for Chrome that lets you get rid of all those advertisements easily. Remove Twitter Promotions, once installed, removes Twitter promoted links, accounts, and trends from the Twitter homepage allowing you to tweet without any distractions.
Retweet Old School: Retweet Old School is an extension which does what it says, that is, it brings the classic RT-style retweet to Twitter. Once installed, you’ll find an extra button titled Retweet Old School below every tweet. Just click on it, and you’ll be able to retweet any tweet in the classic @RT style way.

Twitter Extender: Twitter Extender brings a slew of interesting features to the Twitter homepage. Once the extension is installed, you’ll find buttons for old-school retweeting and DMing below every tweet. Also, the extension highlights mentions ( or @replies ) on your Twitter homepage making it easier to identify what’s important.
Twitterbar: Twitterbar is a simple extension that lets you tweet Chrome’s toolbar. Once installed, it will show up as a bird icon on your toolbar, which when clicked, lets you write and post your tweet instantly.
Oh and yeah, don’t forget to follow us on Twitter, G+, and Facebook.
